Social Club
This community is more than just racing to a lot of people. It is a place where we can be ourself no matter what is going on in our lives and we want it to be that for as many people as possible. We all have two things in common, our love for motorsport and our mental health. Sometimes though when we are all racing against each other and the adrenaline is pumping, the race track and the voice chat may not feel very welcoming. People can very easily get the wrong impression of people, banter then feels very personal and people stop racing and stop being a part of the community or, they may have not even got as far as getting on track. We really don’t want that, any of it.
Mental health plays a part in everyone’s everyday life so we want to build a place for you to be you whether you just want to chill out and watch some racing or have a chat about anything and everything. The eagle-eyed amongst us will notice there has been a new section added to the Discord server on the left hand side under the Welcome section, called Social Club.
The Social Club is open 24/7 although we will have 4 main gatherings. The idea is if you are online doing some racing elsewhere, maybe on the LFM grind, doing some LMU or iRacing or designing a new livery, anything, just put the details of what you are up to in the social text channel and jump in to one of the social voice chats and put up a screenshare. If anyone is online they can just pop in and see what you are up to. It is a great way to meet other people from the community and get to know them. Most of us are a lot nicer than we may come across when racing against you lol!
There are many of us who are on the ELO grind on LFM so I have arranged 4 Social Club get togethers where there will be a few of us in the voice chat sharing our screens and having a natter. If you don’t want to chat you can just kick back and enjoy the racing from different race pov’s. If you have questions about the racing or whatever is being screenshared, it is a great opportunity to find out more or just chat and get to know others. Dan will be streaming on YouTube so if you want to be involved but don’t like being in voice chat or maybe don’t feel comfortable just yet you can join the conversation in the stream chat. Myself and others will have his chat up so we can keep up to date with everything.
This is what we have planned, starting this coming week (w/c 15 April 2024, except Monday, this will start the following week due to preparation for the final round of the championship)
